Last weekend many innovative events took place in Barcelona, but two in particular caught my attention. The first one was the very successful Comidart charity event organised by MACBA, ASB and EADA with the collaboration of its highly committed MBA students on Friday, February 7. From PR to pouring drinks to giving speeches, MBA participants showed great dedication – I still wonder where they found the time to organise such a great event! You can learn more about the Comidart charity event on its official Facebook page , or on EADA’s, where pictures of the event have been published.
On a completely different note, let’s talk about Saturday night. After a trimester in Barcelona, we know the city has a lot to offer. For the first time this year, a traditional English pub quiz was organised at Maslaos (C/ Enrique Granados, 71) on February 8. Of course, everyone arrived an hour late, but hey, that’s the Spanish culture, what can you do?
For those who have never been to a pub quiz, I have to admit it consists mostly of drinking beer and eating pizza (all for 5€), while answering questions about Spain’s pop culture, history and sports. The questions were in Spanish but the two local girls organising the quiz spoke great English. My advice: build up two teams of about 4 people, and come to join in! Maslaos hosts a pub quiz every Saturday and it’s a good chance to meet locals and practice your Spanish.
