November 29, 2019 marked the XXth edition of the EADA Annual Meeting (EAM) and the International Homecoming activities. These two events bring the EADA community together each year, providing the opportunity for alumni and current students of the International Masters, International MBA and executive programmes to re-connect and extend their network. According to Associate Dean Jordi Díaz, the events represent the core values of EADA. “This is a great opportunity to get inspired and expand your network in EADA style – connecting with nice people and talented professionals,” he confirms.
The International Homecoming is specially designed to welcome alumni from our full time MBA and Master programmes back to Barcelona. Homecoming activities took place in the morning, with special emphasis given to leadership development, networking, and the presentation of the newly remodelled Barcelona City Centre Campus.
The EAM kicked off in the afternoon at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, including the official closing of the 2018-19 academic year, the handing out of the Best Final Project Awards and conferences presented by prominent business leaders. Speakers’ reflections focused on the precarious and ever-changing Future of Work, the theme of this year’s EAM.
This year’s EAM speakers included experts from fields such as tech, banking, HR and social enterprises, who addressed the complex opportunities presented by international collectives, the importance of adaptability, the role of values in company strategy and personal branding. “The Future of Work is a relevant topic for each and every one of us,” says EADA Alumni & Career Services Director Melissa Handely. “This is as true for individuals facing changing roles and types of collaboration as for organisations with new leadership challenges, tech-driven advances and demographic shifts.”
The EAM and International Homecoming in Barcelona combined with Meet Ups all over the world ensure that alumni stay connected and continue to build relationships in the EADA community.
