Dream supporters by Michela Secci

One of the most curious facts of this study year is realizing how our many different educations have brought us all in the same direction: deciding to take a master degree in a business school. What attracts me the most in people is the creativity they put into their lives and the willingness they have of being the drivers of their own professional careers. That’s why I’ve found it really interesting, and a possible source of inspiration for many people, to tell you the story of an Eada Master in Management student, who decided that her dream job, now coming true, needed the support of a business school education program. So, ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to Luisa Schindler.

Luisa is a 24 year old girl who comes from Cologne, Germany. She previously studied Art History with Ancient and Oriental studies in Munich. During her bachelor she founded her jewellery brand “Luilu” and she soon realised that in order to make it work efficiently, she needed to gain further knowledge in the business field.

The brand is really new; it was founded about one and a half years ago. When I asked Luisa how everything first started she explained to me: “My hobby of making and designing jewellery became more and more professional. I had some acquaintances in Munich and in my hometown, Cologne, who were owners of different shops; that is where I quickly started to sell.” The people responded well to the product, so Luisa decided to market online and to regularly post about the latest designs she had created. There was the perfect chance to start engaging close relationships with some bloggers, the “new promoters” of today’s fashion industry, who now not only promote, but also support and really appreciate “Luilu” jewellery.

Today the main channel that Luisa uses to promote and sell her products is Instagram. Through it she is able to show to her almost 10.000 followers new design ideas, different promotions and work in progress in the product creation process; from the decision of a stone’s colour for a new collection, to the making of some photo-shoots.And now the question that all the entrepreneurs would like to be asked: How does it make you feel to have something you actually created yourself? Her answer was spontaneous and direct: “Well, honestly I am very proud of it!” And of course she should be! She is a clear example of a young lady who is doing what she loves the most and what she is best at. Isn’t it the dream of every human being?

Another key success of her job is the relationship she was able to establish with her followers: “Our relationship is very good, – she said- “They support me, post pictures when they receive their orders and give me a lot of likes as positive feedback. They are very loyal and appreciate my work.”

I was then really curious about her new ideas for the future, after graduating at Eada and here is her answer:“My plan is to open an online-shop and then to offer a broader variety of goods. I am already in the process of designing a new jewellery collection. I am currently designing and producing my own dresses and clothes and planning my first clothing line. Hopefully by the beginning of next year you will see the first results!” What we can all learn from Luisa’s experience is that sometimes our dreams and our projects make us understand that education is not just one step in our life. Learning is something that we will come across in our jobs every day, we will feel the need to keep learning in order to be better and more competitive.

Having a master degree is a choice that a hundred reasons could bring us to make. The good thing is that every day of the program we constantly realise that these hundreds of reasons grow exponentially and give us the chance to better choose our future goals and then reach them in the exact way we have planned.
