Charlotte Vo shares her experience in the Master in Management

We interviewed International Master in Management alumna Charlotte Vo about her experience at EADA. Charlotte is trilingual and holds a master’s degree in Business Management with finance with honours from Heriot-Watt University in the U.K. She has been working at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) as an Account Manager for the Norwegian SMB market since graduation.

What does your current position at HPE entail?

I am responsible for engaging with businesses and driving sales from a variety of small and medium-sized companies in Norway. I am involved in the whole sales-cycle with close collaboration with partners. Furthermore, I am required to fully understand the companies by analysing their operations in order to make sure that the they fully benefit from the right HPE innovations and technology.

What was the highlight of your experience in EADA’s International Master in Management?

The faculty played a big role: a significant number of exceptionally good professors supported our work and shared their knowledge and experiences. The professors in the Residential Training Campus had particularly creative methods of facilitating the leadership modules – this was an excellent way of pushing students out of their comfort zones, which in turn contributed to our personal growth.

In terms of teamwork, the stable groups consisting of 4-5 students were definitely a highlight. The students were all from different backgrounds and countries, which gave me the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of talented students.

How did your experience in the MiM prepare you for your current position?

The thorough case study preparation, presentations and public speaking activities added great value to my current position at HPE. The constructive feedback from professors and group members also had a significant impact on both my personal and professional growth.

What was the highlight of your final project?

Charlotte accepting the Best Final Project Award at the EADA Annual Meeting in November.

I believe the highlight of the final project was that I learned the importance of consistently communicating with transparency. As a result, trust and commitment between us were created from the start. In addition, we highly appreciated the positive experience with the entrepreneurs and our outstanding mentor. These factors all had a valuable impact on our final results.

What specific skills did you learn at EADA that you use in your day-to-day?

The ability to work, collaborate and socialise with people from a variety of backgrounds and nationalities in a constant changing environment. The International Master in Management also prepared me to analyse companies in order to give future recommendations in their best interests.

What is it like to work in such a constantly changing area such as technology? How do you keep up?

The learning curve is very steep, which I believe results in rapid progress. As a result, I am motivated to keep up with the environment by constantly attending internal and external workshops, training, coaching sessions and webinars. Above all, I do believe that finding the right balance between being proactive and reactive is important in order to have a successful and healthy career.
