Organised by EADA’s career department and dedicated to the Pharma and Healthcare sectors, the first Talent Day of the new academic year took place on October 17. Talent Days at EADA are events designed to connect top companies in each sector with talent currently studying an EADA programme.
More than 90 participants from EADA’s International MBA and International Masters programmes took part in the Pharma & Healthcare Talent Day, which this year saw representatives from Almirall, Alira Health and Edward Lifesciences attending.
The Pharma & Healthcare Talent Day was aimed at participants from all the international programmes given that the companies have vacancies open in various departments including Marketing and Finance, among others.

EADA’s Careers and Alumni Director, Melissa Handley, applauded the high turnout of students at the first Talent Day of the year: “The main objective of our Talent Days is the recruitment of our students, but they are key to finding out first hand, exactly what the different sectors within the job market demand as well. Besides networking, it is an opportunity for participants to reflect on the skills and knowledge they need to improve during their master at EADA so they can meet the needs of the market”.
Almirall is a Spanish pharmaceutical company specialising in treatments for skin diseases. The Company employs over 1,000 workers and has 13 bases throughout Europe and the United States. Alira Health is an international consultancy firm, offering services to businesses in the healthcare and life science sector; they have seven offices across the world. Edward Lifesciences is a multicultural enterprise, considered one of the most ethical companies in the world and with a work force of 12,000 across the globe.
The event began with presentations from each company’s representative. They gave brief descriptions of their business, explained what it was like to work there and spoke about the job positions currently available. Each firm also gave advice on the selection process, highlighting the importance soft skills (leadership, negotiation, teamwork and communication) for success during selection and also in the long term, for the development of a successful professional career.

Following the presentations, with the aim of securing future employment, participants had an the opportunity to network directly with the corporate representatives, taking advantage of personalised assessment of their profile and discovering whether they were a good fit for the available positions.
They were also able to connect with fellow students from different programmes, expanding their network within the EADA community.
