What made you want to be elected to represent the Consulting Club at EADA?

I decided to run for president of the EADA Consulting Club because I believe I could bring many valuable ideas, dedication and effort to the role. I feel comfortable with leadership positions and I think the Consulting Club is a very good opportunity for me to meet peers from different backgrounds and programmes.

A successful consultant should be able to actively listen and understand the needs of others, in order to assess a problem and find the best solution - this means having excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.

How does the Consulting Club relate to your career goals?

The Consulting Club will be a great asset in preparing me for the consulting industry. My career goal is to work as a consultant for an international consulting firm: being a consultant will allow me to learn at a very fast pace, meet and interact with many different kinds of people, work on different projects from varied fields and travel around the world. I am confident that the Consulting Club, together with other EADA activities like the final project will prepare me for my role in my future industry.

What do you think are the most important qualities in a successful consultant?

A successful consultant should be able to actively listen and understand the needs of others, in order to assess a problem and find the best solution – this means having excellent interpersonal and analytical skills. When working with demanding clients, it is also important to be flexible, adaptable in the face of sudden changes and capable of working under a lot of pressure.

In the Consulting Club and the MiM, I will be able to see first-hand that diversity, which can sometimes be challenging, is also a great opportunity to learn new perspectives and points of view.

What do you think is the most challenging part of a career in consulting?

To undertake a career in consulting implies heavy workloads, long hours and very diverse teams. These factors are key for personal and professional growth, but they are also challenging. Being President of the Consulting Club will prepare me for dealing with the workload – my role will require a lot of additional effort and dedication on top of the demanding MiM.

The Consulting Club has members from all over the world, with very different backgrounds and interests. This exposure to diversity, as well as the multicultural environment in the MiM, will prepare me for working with people with different values and cultures. I will be able to see first-hand that this diversity, which can sometimes be challenging, is also a great opportunity to learn new perspectives and points of view.
