Nicholas VALASSINA is from Italy and is currently doing the International Master in Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology at EADA Business School. We interviewed him about his experience and asked him to share a bit about himself.
Describe yourself in three words.
Determined, ambitious and friendly!
Can you tell us about your background?
I am driven by a strong passion for science and medicine. I completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s studies in medical biotechnology. Right after graduation, I started working as a research scientist in the neuroscience field, focusing my commitment on a rare, early-onset epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome.
If you are considering EADA for your Master degree, definitely go for it - you won't regret it. Even in this difficult time marked by a global pandemic, I would make this choice again without thinking twice.
Why did you choose EADA?
For me, EADA was an easy choice. As soon as I saw the web site, I fell in love with the school. I was really attracted to their practical learning methodology, very different from what I was used to in my undergraduate academic path. I also loved the international environment. Furthermore, the Residential Training Campus was a real plus for me – a place where I could really work on my leadership and interpersonal skills. If you are considering EADA for your Master degree, definitely go for it – you won’t regret it. Why did you apply for this specific master?
I come from a scientific background, but I was aiming for a career change. The Master in Biotech & Pharma Management provided me with the perfect skillset to launch my career in the pharmaceutical sector. At EADA, I have professors with extensive professional experience in the subject they are teaching, providing me with insightful knowledge and advice.
How would you describe being an EADA participant?
The classes are amazing and very challenging, with a great deal of individual and group work to carry out. At the same time, the work is very fun because I get to discuss real business case scenarios and discuss them with professors and classmates. I have the chance to meet people from every part of the world and this is very enriching, making the EADA experience a real adventure.
What has been your favourite subject so far?
My favorite subject so far is Drug Development & Portfolio Management. I have had the opportunity to develop my decision-making ability in the context of defining product opportunity. This is particularly challenging in a marketplace like pharma, with the mission of saving or enhancing patients’ lives.
