We caught up with Master in Management alumnus Vishal Sinha from the class of 2020 to find out what life is like after graduation. He holds a Bachelor of Technology from his home country of India and came to EADA looking to expand his horizons by studying abroad. After graduation, Vishal stayed in Barcelona and currently works as a Business Analyst Planner at Ecolab. Ecolab is the global leader in water, hygiene and infection prevention solutions and services. With annual sales of 13 billion USD$ and offices in more than customers in more than 170 countries around the world, Ecolab offers a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth.
What are your responsibilities at Ecolab?
I am currently working as a Business Analyst Planner. My main responsibility is to support the Inventory Analytics Team in monitoring the stock levels weekly, analyse the main inventory drivers and root causes for at risk stocks. I also support the team in preventing and determining the courses of action to deal with unexpected changes in the inventory across Europe.
What knowledge and skills learnt in EADA do you implement at Ecolab?
EADA provided me with all the knowledge and tools to succeed in the corporate world. The classes combined with case studies were in sync and up-to-date with the industry. The Live “Supply Chain Simulation” performed in our class allowed me to use my skills, strategize and execute our plans to manage inventory. This experience directly helped me excel in my current role. Even during the pandemic, EADA ensured that we received a quality education and supported us in the job search and networking.

How important are soft skills in your job?
My job involves working with a diverse team, collaborating with different teams and departments, and presenting and communicating ideas and solutions to the team. In this context, soft skills are very important and ensure a productive, collaborative, and healthy work environment. What made you decide to look for work in a large multinational corporation? What opportunities did this offer?
Multinational corporations offer diversity in the workplace. They provide international work experience, opportunities, and networking. They also tend to highly invest in the growth and development of their employees. I was looking for an opportunity where I could learn from scratch and grow both as an individual and a professional, and Ecolab provided me with just that: I am working with an International team with access to one-on-one training sessions and I have developed a long-term career growth plan.
What is the most challenging and the most rewarding part of your job?
The most challenging part of my job is to synchronise and communicate with different departments and teams to make sure that everyone is on the same page. The most rewarding part is the absolute autonomy over my responsibilities. The work-life balance is good and the team cares about my professional growth. There is a genuine spirit of cooperation and shared objectives.
The key is to be well-informed and keep up with the latest trends. We must all be ready to adapt and embrace new technologies and changes in the industry.

What advice would you offer to future students wanting to work in Ecolab?

Students who want to work here should be adaptable team players that are eager to learn and ready to take on new challenges.
