We caught up with three International Master in Management alumni a year after they left their student life in EADA. Cosma Nouschirvan, Nicole Solti and Thomas Unterlerchner graduated from their master degree in 2020. Since then, they have been developing their careers in very different fields.
She is now working as a Senior Consultant – Digital & Data-Driven Marketing at PwC in Hamburg, Germany.
Nicole Solti
She is working as a consultant in the Business Transformation & Organization Department at CAMELOT in Cologne, Germany.
He works as a Junior Process Automation Professional at Red Bull HQ in Salzburg, Austria.
We wanted to know more about their day-to-day work and how their pass through EADA influenced their professional and personal life.
Cosma: I’m working for PwC as a Senior Consultant in the area of Digital & Data Driven Marketing. Currently I’m supporting a global automotive manufacturer in rolling out intelligent and data-driven marketing on a global scale. Thus I’m having the chance to work with people from all over the world, which I already loved during my studies at EADA, and hopefully get the chance to travel as soon as the pandemic is over. My workdays alway vary but what stays the same is the continuous exchange with my colleagues, which I really enjoy.
Nicole: I am working as Consultant in the Business Transformation & Organization Department in the area of Change Management. After more than a year, I supported a Successful Master Data Management Global Project, currently, I am preparing for my next challenge. For me every day is different but I try to start the first hour with a personal interest activity such as sports or for educational purposes. Afterwards I start my day with team meeting alignments, customer calls, workshops, and many different and dynamic tasks. I am still working from home and slowly getting back to normal.
Thomas: I am working in a cross-functional team in the Global IT department of Red Bull, helping and consulting the business from a technical perspective on Process Mining and Process Automation. Our goal is to make our business processes as effective and efficient as possible, and one of my tasks to help the business to achieve that, is to evaluate the market to provide the most suitable tools and to convince and include the right stakeholders at the right time. But also building analyses, analyzing processes or even running bots and automating workflows might be on my daily agenda.
Cosma: I had the opportunity to conduct my final project together with a consulting company from Germany. The final project prepared me really well for my current position and gave me a glimpse of what to expect in the consulting world afterwards. Furthermore, we were guided and mentored by Eric Viardot, who has a lot of consulting experience and shared his knowledge in the EADA Consulting Club, which I was part of. So overall EADA provides many opportunities for the students to prepare for their careers afterwards.
Nicole: My experience at EADA definitely helped me to prepare for my current career. Being immersed in such a diverse environment gave me the opportunity to get to know different cultures, languages, traditions and experiences, as well as the ability to work in diverse and multicultural groups and therefore, grow my network I was able to expand my international management know-how, my communication skills, and my ability to influence and persuade team members in negotiations or in times where rapid strategic decisions were needed to execute a time project. In addition, I developed skills such as analytical thinking, problem-solving, adaptability, decision making, delegation, leadership, and teamwork.
Thomas: Definitely the soft skills that EADA taught us in many ways. Not only in Collbato, but also the chance to work together in various groups filled with people from all over the world, taught me how to interact and collaborate with different personalities.
Cosma: I chose the Consulting specialization to gain further knowledge on how technology and innovation can positively impact our lives and how companies can use the latest techniques to innovate and develop corporate strategy.
Nicole: I chose Consulting as my specialization, since it was a challenging track but very enriching. I was highly interested to start a career in an international as well as demanding setting such as Consulting. I knew I wanted to combine my Bachelor’s background in Industrial/Organizational Psychology with my Master in International Management at a corporate level where both disciplines have made me grow exponentially and brought a wide variety of benefits as well as reaching my professional goals.
Thomas: I chose the Cross Functional Management Track, because I wanted to understand various functions of business and it was definitely the right decision. In my current role Change Management e.g. is a very important part and within that track we were taught to have an eye on the bigger picture and to establish a growth mindset.
Cosma: I’m still in contact with some of the people I got to know at EADA and they turned into close friends of mine. Some of the students from abroad even moved to Germany and the city I currently live in (Hamburg), thus we are able to see each other often and it is easy to stay in touch.
Nicole: Yes, I have made incredible and amazing friendships at EADA. I met so many different people from all over the world. After the Master’s, we have been making plans to meet each other again and spend some time together not only to remember all the good times we had in Barcelona but also to make new memories for a lifetime.
Thomas: Yes of course! I got to know a couple of great personalities who turned into very good friends.
Cosma: The decision to study abroad and to conduct my Master at EADA was one of the best decisions I ever made and I don’t want to miss this time. I made great memories and enjoyed life but also worked hard to accomplish my goals.
Nicole: EADA is the place where I got the tools from a solid management and leadership foundation program as well as a strong network, that helped me to open so many doors and to build different life experiences from a professional and personal perspective.
Thomas: Even though EADA was responsible for endless nights studying and preparing for cases, EADA was also a big driver for one of the best years in my life!
