Meet Eslin Beyhan, Master in Finance Alumna

We interviewed International Master in Finance Alumna Eslin Beyhan to find out about what she has been doing since she graduated in 2020. Eslin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and has a  background working in the finance and accounting field. Nowadays she is working as a Costing Analyst at Nestlé, one of the biggest food and beverage multinational companies.

What does a normal workday look like for you?

I work mainly on the distribution, marketing and other general expenses within Nestlé. I am in charge of also performing daily activities such as calculating standard costs for materials, transfer prices and performing the monthly closings. Apart from that, we work with ad-hoc projects which change all the time.

What surprised you most about the position when you first started?

I am mostly surprised by how the job is interesting. I don’t only have daily tasks but I am also included in ad-hoc projects. I get involved in many subjects in many streams.

What are you most excited about right now professionally?

I am excited to work at Nestlé since it gives us the chance to grow professionally in many fields. We learn all the parts step by step and every day we are seeing a bigger picture of how the business works.

Tell us about your final Master's project: Investing in Women-Led Companies. What is the most important thing you learned from it?

We constructed a portfolio of women-led companies throughout the world for our project. It was inspiring for me since we were a team of all female members and working on this subject was important since it is a real subject of today’s world.

Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?

I want to continue in the finance area learning more streams. In my opinion, every day working in finance is the key to understanding the business cycle more and the background of the processes.
