Camille Chaveron recently graduated from the the MBA programme at EADA. A professional with more than 5 years of experience in the hotel industry, she has worked for different hotels in 4 different countries, learning about their cultures and traditions, and also applying her knowledge as a hotel expert. In 2020, she decided to start her journey at EADA pursuing the International MBA. We wanted to know more about her EADA experience and post graduation life.
Tell us about your professional development since you completed your MBA at EADA.
I graduated from the International MBA at the end of July. After enjoying a month of holiday since nothing happens in Europe in August, I started applying in September and after many interviews, I joined Beyond on November 29th as a revenue management analyst. Beyond is an American start up with a strong culture, born in San Francisco in 2013 and now the leader in dynamic pricing for the short-term rental industry.
Why did you decide to pursue an MBA? And why did you choose EADA?
I used to work in the hotel industry, from Food and Beverage to Revenue management. Till June 2020, I was working for a Swiss hotel consulting company in Barcelona. Unfortunately, the pandemic hit us so hard that it had to close down the Spanish office. Finding an interesting new job in the tourism industry at that time was impossible but I did not want to wait and see but rather act and study one more year to learn new subjects and develop my leadership skills. I found EADA as one of the best business schools in Europe and its MBA as one of the top ranked programmes in the Financial Times and The Economist. I applied quickly as we were already in June and got accepted mid-August to start in October.
The MBA gave me the opportunity to strengthen my analytical and financial skills which helped me to smash the interviews in the field!"
What are your future career plans and how did your MBA studies prepare you to achieve them?
The MBA gave me the opportunity to strengthen my analytical and financial skills which helped me to smash the interviews in the field! The case study methodology has also been very helpful since we get business cases in most of the interview processes nowadays. The MBA helped me to increase my self-confidence and structure my thoughts in a better way. Thanks to this, I reached the next level in my career and got an analytical job with many responsibilities in a fast-growing company.
What have you learned from your MBA that you can apply on a daily basis?
I learnt how to work in a fast-paced and multi-cultural environment which is helping a lot in my new role at Beyond. I also learnt how to go beyond my fears and to always trust the team thanks to the leadership activities in Collbato Residential Training Center.
What was your most memorable moment at EADA?
I think I have two:
- That day in Collbato when we had to climb the pillar and jump in the air to hit the ball, supported by our dear classmates holding the rope on the floor!
- The speech for the graduation ceremony: To speak in front of this crowd was such an honor and it was tangible proof that I had changed over the years. I still remember the first presentation in class when my whole body was shaking; I would have never thought that I would have accepted to write the speech and read it in front of everyone to close the year!
Describe your experience in EADA in one sentence
A memorable year during which I met amazing people from all over the world and went beyond my limits.
