Barcelona welcomes International MBA participants for the 4th MBA Day edition

Barcelona Global, a private non-profit association made up of 229 of the city’s leading companies welcomed more than 600 MBA participants at this year’s MBA Day in Barcelona.

On October 20th, all participants from top business schools in Barcelona such as EADA, ESADE, IESE and more come together to visit companies and network.

During this event, companies from a wide range of sizes and sectors open their doors to give a warm welcome to top international talent that have chosen Barcelona as an MBA study destination.

This event is not only to help participants learn insights about different industries but also to understand how the city of Barcelona is one of the leading hubs for companies in Europe and that it has great potential for businesses to grow.

Notable companies welcomed EADA’s MBA participants such as the sparkling-wine company Freixenet, the renowned communication group Prensa Ibérica, the AI-based medical assistant Mediktor and Quadpack, a Barcelonian-born global cosmetics packaging manufacturer and provider for beauty brands. These companies have been giving first-hand exposure to its business and facilities, answer all of our participants questions about their operations, current challenges and key to success.

The day concluded with a evening cocktail event bringing together the MBA participants of different schools, offering them the opportunity to mix and network.

We asked our attending MBA participants their main highlights of the event.

Federico Pazo (Argentina) enjoyed specifically learning on how growing technologies are changing the pharmaceutical industry and “how Mediktor works on artificial intelligence to the advantage of their product.”

Meanwhile, with many businesses transitioning to a more sustainable model concerning the environment, Isabela Carvalho (Brazil) expresses how Quadpack “is adapting to this new reality, but also committed to their values as a company, maintaining the quality of their products while moving towards a more sustainable business model”.

During the event, participants were given a tour of Freixenet’s popular sparkling wine production site. Kristopher Blazeski (USA) shares with us that this was special to see as “it was a fantastic experience. We really went through the entire cava-making process, something I see for the first time”

As Laetitia Rella, Associate Director of Admissions at EADA concludes: “as an adopted Barcelonian myself,  I am proud to see how professionals from the city came together to organise such a powerful event to officially welcome newcomers in the city. An MBA is a unique experience and the choice of where you want to study is an important aspect: the city becomes a second learning playground. Barcelona  attracts top international talent and this event marks the start of exciting year of networking and connection possibilities.”
