Why EADA’s Master in International Management? A guide for making a well-founded decision

Deciding which Master’s program in Management to choose and apply for can be a tough decision to make. Especially in Europe, an incredibly large number of business schools seemingly offer similar graduate programs in management. So why in particular should you choose the “Master in International Management” at EADA Business School? The following paragraphs shall provide some interesting insights why this program is the right choice for you, based on my own experience as a candidate.

1. Barcelona

Studying a management master does not only mean sitting and studying all day and night long at university but also to get to know the city, the business world and career opportunities, so I started selecting the city of my choice. Barcelona is the right fit for everything: this vibrant, young, and international metropole on the Mediterranean offers the convincing Spanish lifestyle with great food, beach life, and countless party possibilities while being the third largest start-up hub in Europe and the most important business hub in Spain besides Madrid with multiple international and global corporations located in the heart of Catalonia.

The Master in Management program entails company visits in Barcelona (e.g. SAP) and organizes career days on a regular basis in order to connect students with businesses and enable interesting career opportunities.

2. EADA Business School

In the selection process for the right program in management, the final decision is of course closely connected to the business school itself. EADA Business School is not only a renowned institution and achieves great places in international rankings (Financial Times 2022: Top 27 Business Schools in Europe) but is also a small, individual, and modern business school located right in the city center of Barcelona.  The class itself is also quite small compared to other Master in Management programmes.  There are approximately 60 students from all around the world in our cohort, divided in 2 classes.

The small-sized class enables a suitable atmosphere for personal growth (extensive leadership training) and guidance by professors while still being super international with more than 30 nationalities in class. Moreover, the program achieves great placements in competitive rankings as well: Financial Times 2022: 33rd MiM worldwide and The Economist 2021: 19th MiM worldwide.

3. Methodology

The Master in Management at EADA Business School can be characterized by a hands-on mentality with a practical oriented approach. This means that the information, models, and frameworks learnt in class won’t stay theoretical at all but are instantly applied in case studies or projects. Sometimes content is also learnt through the learning-by-doing method and applied practically without much theoretical explanation, making the advantages and disadvantages of certain frameworks and models much more directly clear.

Furthermore, it is worth noting that almost all case studies and projects are conducted in highly international groups (4-5 persons with all different nationalities). This represents a huge opportunity to learn working in an international environment with people from different countries, cultures, and ways of doing business.

4. Specializations & Career Opportunities

The Master in Management at EADA Business School includes the great opportunity to invest 1/3 of the program into a self-selected specialization. This year’s programme includes 3: Management Consulting, Tech Management or Entrepreneurship & Innovation. EADA adapts the programme according to current trends and next year participants will be able to choose among: Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Strategy & Innovation, Digital Business & Analytics, Strategy & Business Analytics. Depending on your career plans and based on your interests, you can individualize this well-founded management program and position yourself as the perfect candidate for your dream job. This might be one of the reasons why 98% of graduates find a suitable job within three months

In conclusion, the mixture of all factors makes this Master in Management the perfect choice for your graduate business education. Studying one year in the vibrant start-up city of Barcelona at the prestigious EADA Business School with the great opportunity to individualize the degree and practically learn how to apply new models and frameworks in international teams is the perfect preparation and springboard for your career.
