EADA’s Student Club: Uniting EADA’s participants and unleashing their potential

This past academic year, a group of dynamic students (Josefina Partos, Fanny Hulbig, Johnson Cheung, Enikö Ecseri, Marta Maturano and Roxanne Leclercq-Schitte) took on the role of Student Ambassadors for the first-year Student Club. All of them set out on a goal to give each one of EADA’s students an unforgettable experience. The Student Club quickly established itself as a vibrant hub of activity, filled with enthusiasm and energy. These enterprising students combined their skills and came up with creative methods and ideas that all allowed them to achieve one simple goal: organizing events that made students’ time at EADA even more unforgettable than before. As EADA proclaims, it is crucial to forge connections, embrace new cultures and create lifelong memories, and the student club encourages just that.

Whether it was the excitement of competing in sports tournaments, the serene atmosphere of yoga classes, or the mouthwatering flavors of gastronomic festivities, the Student Club did an incredible job at providing a diverse range of activities. Because the Student Club participants range from all different programmes, this club is a great opportunity to network with other students all while having fun participating in various activities!

Moira Bortagaray, an executive coach and a senior associate professor in the EADA Strategy, Leadership and People Department and the Representative of the Student Club, has shared her insights on this year’s Student Club outcomes. Bortagaray said that as they navigated this new territory, they gained valuable insights and honed their skills in leadership, effective communication, and event planning.

Each success and setback served as a valuable lesson, guiding us towards improvement and growth. Looking back, our first year in the Student Club was a transformative experience. We are immensely proud of our accomplishments and for the opportunity to individually and collectively grow.

Throughout the last semester, the Ambassadors that are in charge of the Student Club have been working hard to plan and host a wide range of exciting events that catered to the different interests of the students. As previously mentioned, the events planned included a revitalizing yoga session to encourage physical and mental well-being, a training program for the Barcelona half marathon where students could display their strength and tenacity, a football tournament that brought out the inner competitiveness spirit of each participant, an engaging tournament of paddle that helped to highlight the importance of teamwork and coordination, a delightful catalan gastronomic experience called “Calçotada” at Can Fisa where students enjoyed mouth watering delicacies typical of Catalonia. Also an energizing hike around Tibidabo, the perfect activity for students to unwind and socialize and have amazing views of Barcelona, informative workshops about nutrition which aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles, mindfulness workshops to reduce stress and enhance mental clarity. And last but not least, the much awaited graduation party to celebrate the hard work each participant put in this year at EADA.

All these events helped to create a dynamic and engaging atmosphere, encouraging students’ sense of community, personal growth and lifelong connections amongst them and the institution.

Johnson Cheung García, International MBA participant and Student Club Ambassador, stated “one of the highlights of my role as an EADA Ambassador has been the opportunity to organize sports tournaments. These tournaments bring together students from various programs, fostering a sense of camaraderie and healthy competition. It has been incredible to witness the passion and enthusiasm with which students participate in these events, showcasing their skills and forming lasting bonds. Through these tournaments, I have not only witnessed the power of teamwork and sportsmanship but have also discovered a newfound appreciation for diverse sporting cultures from around the world.”

Being an EADA Ambassador has enhanced my personal and professional growth. The role has honed my organizational and leadership skills as I navigate the complexities of event planning and coordination. It has taught me the importance of effective communication, teamwork, and adaptability in managing diverse groups and ensuring the success of our initiatives. These invaluable experiences will undoubtedly contribute to my future endeavors and make me a more well-rounded individual.

Marta del Pino Matutano, International Master in Marketing, expressed to us that one of the most interesting takeaways from this experience had been the opportunity to connect with people from EADA whom she may not have crossed paths with otherwise. For her, being involved in the student club allowed her to meet individuals and helped her forge new friendships and expand her network.

She also mentioned that to her, being involved in the student club meant more than just participating in activities and events. It signified a commitment to fostering a sense of community and creating opportunities for students to engage with one another outside of their academic pursuits.

EADA would like to extend a large thank you to our Student Club Ambassadors and Representative, as well as everyone who attended these wonderful events!
