One of the foundational pillars of the EADA curriculum is the emphasis on the power of communication and networking. As taught through lessons in Collbató, EADA’s residential learning campus, success in the industry begins with a conversation. On April 19th, EADA hosted its second Talent Day for students to attend. Talent Day, organized by the EADA Career Center, provides students with excellent opportunities to connect with recruiters and ask questions in an open environment.
Participants engaged directly with key representatives from companies such as Alira Health, Autodesk, Glovo, Bizaway, Crowdstrike, Freixenet, SeQura, Infor, PTC, Camelot, and S2M-Group
Many of my classmates and I were eager to network. One company at the event, Alira Health, offered an excellent opportunity for those looking to combine scientific knowledge with consulting roles. I had an in-depth conversation with Sofia, an Associate at Alira Health and EADA alumna, where I was able to relate a recent course I took (Market Access) to consulting opportunities described by Sofia. Hearing how the subject could be applied to different roles was eye-opening and helped me consider future career paths.
As a student in the third and final trimester pursuing a Master in Pharma and Biotech Management, I have been refining my resume in preparation for upcoming job applications with the support of EADA’s career services team. Classes like Market Research and Drug Portfolio Management have helped me gain skills such as a comprehensive understanding of current biotech health industries and data-driven decision-making. Although my undergraduate background is in chemical and biological engineering, these courses demonstrate to potential employers my new proficiency in business concepts. More importantly, they have equipped me with the ability to engage with others and listen to their experiences.
Combining my newly acquired skills with networking opportunities has allowed me to secure a part-time internship as a Business Development Trainee in Barcelona. In this role, I will conduct market research and use databases to promote the company’s growth. This job would not have been possible without the support of EADA’s Career Center where the administration actively seeks opportunities for students by partnering with local businesses. Through their efforts, I was able to schedule an interview with a local company to discuss my learning experiences and future goals. Describing recent projects completed at EADA gave me an advantage when communicating with prospective employers.
Although the job application process can be challenging, there are ways to alleviate some of the pressure with EADA’s career development resources. For example, at EADA, students have access to platforms such as JobTeaser and can conduct one-on-one sessions with advisors. These opportunities have helped my confidence grow, and I am excited for what the future holds.
